About Journal

Chatreššar is dedicated to publishing new research in the comparative linguistics and philology of the Indo-European and Semitic language families and other languages of the Ancient Near East, as well as the external history of their speakers and related topics, including sociolinguistics, electronic corpora, dictionaries, and other resources for the study of ancient languages.

Chatreššar was first published in 1997 in the form of a yearbook of the Institute of Comparative Linguistics at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University. It has since expanded to become a full scholarly journal with an international editorial board, and belongs to the List of Peer-Reviewed Non-Impacted Periodicals maintained by the Research, Development and Innovation Council of the Czech Republic. It aspires to become a platform for the abovementioned fields of study, to promote original scholarship and facilitate interdisciplinary discussion.

Since 2018 Chatreššar is a fully Open Access journal with online content freely available to the readers under the CC BY-NC-ND 2.0 license. Full articles are available on the internet to all readers immediately upon publication and their further non-commercial use and distribution in any medium is permitted, provided the author and the journal are properly credited.

No fees are charged for the manuscript submission, processing, and publication.
